Marshall’s Oasis

Quality Cashmere Goats and Fiber

Marshall's Oasis is a small family farm that began in 1995 as a modest three goat 4-H project for our two children and blossomed into a family legacy which Pam and Bob embraced as our children grew and ventured out on their own. The 4-H project soon outgrew our small acreage and neighbors became used to goat parades to the tune of a neighbor's trumpet as we farmed goats out before finding a larger farm. We've raised, shown, judged and sold Cashmere goats and their gorgeous fiber for over 30 years. We have several bucks that we use and offer for breeding. Our cashmere herd averages 30 animals including babies, bucks, does and several wethers. We usually have 8-12 adorable babies every spring to spoil. Deciding which goats to breed, which to keep and which to sell are the hardest decisions we have to make. We’re striving to reduce our herd to less than 15 animals – a challenging endeavor, give the irresistible charm of newborn kids and the endearing personalities of our mature goats. Family, chickens, dogs, one old horse, a koi/goldfish pond and a large garden help keep us busy. Though we’ve both retired from our other jobs our enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to quality cashmere goats and luxurious fiber remains unwavering. Teaching others about Cashmere goats and fiber is one of our passions. We love having visitors, giving educational talks, instructing new goat owners or just chatting.

Meet the Farmers

Pam & Bob Marshall

Pam and Bob Marshall purchased three Cashmere goats in 1995 as 4-H projects for their two children. One of Bob’s customers suggested we look at her Cashmere's and we were hooked! 4-H training and shows, National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO and Estes Park Wool Market Cashmere shows in Colorado led to us becoming more involved with goats and the wonderful people that owned them. Bob became an expert spinner, knitting and weaving the cashmere we produced as well as co-judging cashmere fiber with Pam. Pam cultivated expertise in the selective breeding and professional judging of cashmere goats and their fiber. We have served as Superintendents of the Cashmere Goat Show at Colorado’s renowned Estes Park Wool Market for over a decade. Pam’s extensive knowledge has allowed her to judge numerous prestigious events including multiple 4-H competitions across Colorado, the Estes Park Wool Market, the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival, the Adirondack Wool and Arts Festival and CGA/NWCA Fiber Competition. Additionally, she is a North American Cashmere Goat certified judge and holds a leadership role as a member of the Board of Directors and the North American Judging Committee for the Cashmere Goat Association where she contributes to advancing industry standards and education.
